L-Carnosine, also known as carnosine, is a dipeptide consisting of the amino acids alanine and histidine. It is naturally found in high concentrations in muscle and nerve tissues; however, with age, these concentrations decrease. L-Carnosine has antioxidant and anti-aging properties and protects cells from free radical damage. It may be used to help enhance athletic performance (e.g. extend endurance, speed recovery time, etc.), lower blood glucose level, decrease the risk of type 2 diabetes, reduce risk of cataract formation, support brain and heart health, improve nerve-system functioning, aid children with autism, support the immune system, reduce inflammation, support bone health, rejuvenate the bodyโ€™s cells, and promote healthy aging.
